Rules & Games

PvsP 2011 General Rules:

1. Proper footwear is compulsory at all times. Cleats are NOT allowed for Ultimate.
2. Referee's decisions are final.
3. Please adhere to the fixtures published. No extra time will be given for late coming; games will only last as long as stated in the rules. Please report to the game venue at least 5 minutes before your game. Consequently, for every 5 minutes that a team is unable to play (lack of members, late etc), 1 point will be awarded to the waiting/punctual team.

A copy of the rules is available online. But we're reproducing it here anyways. There's a total of 7 games, they are:

Floorball Open
No. of Players: 6 Players on court, max 3 reserves.
No. Of Teams Registered: 3
Format: Round Robin in group stages, followed by finals.
Limitations: No restrictions.
Rules: 3 period of 10 minutes continuous gameplay each, with 5 mins break in between each period. Substitutions can be made at any point in-game. Referee's decisions are final. Proper footwear is compulsory

Captain's Ball Mixed Event
No. of Players: 5 Players on court, max 2 reserves.
No. Of Teams Registered: 15
Format: 3 groups of 5 teams playing in Round Robin format. Top 2 teams from each group will proceed to the next knockout round. The last top 3 teams will play another round of Round Robin to decide the top 2 teams, who will then play off for the final.
Limitations: Minimum of 2 girls on court. Max 2 person from school netball/basketball team.
Rules: 15 minutes continuous game clock. Referee's decisions are final. Proper footwear is compulsory.

Street Soccer 5on5 Open Event
No. of Players: 5 Players on court, with only 1 reserve. For teams playing at the smaller street soccer court beside Kong Chian, 4 players on court, with 2 reserves. Teams which register first will play on the bigger court.
Maximum No. Of Teams: 12
Format: 2 groups of 6 teams playing in Round Robin format. Top 2 teams from each group will proceed to the Semi-Finals.
Limitations: NO limitations on number of school team players.
Rules: 15 minutes continuous game clock. Goalkeeper can venture beyond semi-circle but no use of hands beyond area. Half court shooting rule applies.  Substitutions can be made at any time, however the substituted player must leave the court first before the substituting player can enter. Referee's decisions are final. Proper footwear is compulsory.

Volleyball Mixed Event
No. of Players: 6 Players on court, with at least 1 reserve, max 2 reserves.
No. Of Teams Registered: 7
Format: 2 pools of 4 teams (Pool A) and 3 teams (Pool B) . Round robin games within the pool for the First Stage. Top 2 teams per Pool will advance to the next Stage. Second stage will be the Semi-finals. Top 2 teams will move onto the Gold Medal play-off; Bottom 2 teams will enter the Bronze Medal play-offs.
Limitations: NO limitations on number of school team players. Minimum of 2 girls on court.
Rules: Standard A Division Volleyball Rules. Best of 3 Sets. In the First Stage, Games in Pool A will be played to 15; Games in Pool B will be played to 20. From the Second Stage onwards, sets will be played to 20. Deuce is applicable. Referee's decisions are final. Proper footwear is compulsory.

Basketball 3on3 Event
No. of Players: 3 Players on court, with 1 reserve only.
No. Of Teams Registered: 6
Format: 2 pools of 3 groups each. Round robin games within the pool for the First Stage. Top 2 teams per Pool will advance to the next Stage. Second stage will be the Semi-finals. Top 2 teams will move onto the Gold Medal play-off; Bottom 2 teams will enter the Bronze Medal play-offs.
Limitations: Max 2 school team players.
Rules: Modified AYG 2009 Rules. 3 Periods, 5 minutes running time each, 1 minute interval in-between periods. First team to reach 33 wins, if by time, no team has reached 33, the team with the highest points wins. If a tie is reached, the game shall continue with as many extra periods of two (2) minutes as is necessary to break the tie. No time outs are granted. 14 seconds shot clock. Referee's decisions are final. Proper footwear is compulsory.

Frisbee Mixed
No. of Players: Each registered team is to consist of 10 players, 5 starting players and 5 reserve.
No. Of Teams Registered: 7
Format: Double Elimination. All matches will be 30 minutes long. In the semi-finals and finals game, each match will be 40 minutes long. When the whistle is blown, play to the end of that point. If the score difference is 2 or more, the team with the higher score wins. If the score difference is less than 2, add 1 to the current score, and play to that point. First team to reach that point wins. Ie. If the score is 6-5 when the whistle is blown, the first team to reach 7 points wins.

Limitations: A minimum of 5 players is required to form the team & there should be a minimum of 2 females in the team. Game format is 3:2, 3 males and 2 females on the line at any one point of the game. 4:1 may only be called if both sides have agreed to it prior to the start of every point.

Badminton Men’s Single

All matches will be played to the best of 3 games of 21 points (or 15 points depending on the time) each. A game is won when a side first scores 21 points. If the score is deuced at 20-all, the side that gains a 2-point lead shall win that game. Should the score become 29-all, the side which scores the 30th point shall win the game. Players will switch sides at the end of the first game, and at the end of the second game should a third game be played. A time-out is given when either side scores 11 points in a game. Each player is guaranteed to play at least 3 games.
