PvsP 2011 Timings

We're just 3 days away from Past vs Present 2011! All participants please take note of the timings for PvsP 2011:

0800: Registration opens
0900: Games commence
1500: End of games
1530: Prize Presentation Ceremony

Please try to arrive before 8.00am so that your team can collect the goodie bags and tee shirts and the games can start on time.

Time will be allocated for lunch midway through the event, however we strongly encourage you to grab a bite as and when you can, and not only during the allocated break timings (especially if you'll be playing right after the break!) The schedule for PvsP 2011 will be out tomorrow, so watch this space!

Bball Games Combined!

Dear participants and people who're signing up last minute, we've combined the categories for Basketball such that the mixed teams will be playing together with the all boys team. The mixed teams have agreed to play against all boys teams and the games will proceed according to the rules without the requirement of girls on the court.

Tee Design

Sorry everyone for the long delay! The tee design is out and they've been ordered!

Captain's Ball Team Limit Raised

Due to overwhelming popularity for Captain's Ball, we've raised the team limit to 18 instead of 12! And we've decided to do away with Handball since there there were no teams registered for it.

Meanwhile, the official registration deadline will be 4 September 2359H so please make sure you don't wait around anymore.

Early Bird Discount Closed!

As all should know, we've closed the early bird discount and from now on, all participants will have to pay $15 per person to take part in the games. For those teams who have not made payments, please pay the appropriate amount for us to confirm your participation.

More than 270 participants have registered and made their payments and enjoyed the early bird discount for Past vs Present 2011. We thank all of you for your support. For those who are looking to participate, you still can do so! Head over to register and then make your payment! The official closing for registration would be next Monday, 5 September!

Closing Games

Note that Volleyball Mixed, Street Soccer and Captain's Ball are both reaching their maximum team numbers and we'll go by a first come first served basis when confirming participation. Players who have made payment first would get the chance to take part in the games chosen. Players who have made payment for a game that has already hit the maximum number of teams will be offered a chance to obtain a refund for their payment or choose another game to take part in.

Note on final early bird payments

Please take note that we will not be issuing anymore replies to confirm early bird payments until tomorrow afternoon so as long as you've made your payments before 2359H, your participation will be confirmed when you email us your receipt or screenshot for the transactions. Please do not worry if you do not see your team status updated on the participant list as well, they'll be updated accordingly by afternoon tomorrow.

For those who miss the early bird payment deadline but submitted only $12/participant, you'll have to top up the difference before we can confirm your participation. Your payment will not be refunded if you decide to withdraw.

If you've signed up for PvsP 2011, and haven't paid, you know who you are! The early bird discount is ending in slightly more than 2 hours and the price of participation will rise to $15/participant!

As our early bird discount deadline looms near, we've updated the teams list to reflect the payment statuses of the registered teams.



Please ensure that the list accurately reflects your payment and registration status as of 21 August 2011 (the last time this list is updated). If there's any discrepancies or that there's any missing information, please email us at 'pvsp2011@gmail.com'. Once again, for those teams who have paid, confirmed but did not input their tee sizes, please contact us with that information in accordance to the size chart we've put up.

Tee Shirts!

Wondering why there was no t-shirt size requested on the registration form? We forgot all about it!

But we still remembered about making t-shirts so we'll be rolling out the design pretty soon but meanwhile we'll need the new participants to fill in their tee sizes in the registration form. Team captains, remember to enter your team mate's tee size as well! Or you'll have to email us the tee sizes of the people on your team!

For those who have already signed up, fret not. We'll soon be contacting you all for the tee sizes so please hear from us! If you don't and you're anxious to make sure you get your tees on that day, please write to us including how many of each size you are ordering for your team and also your team name and team captains name. Rules Update

A note for everyone interested in Past vs Present, there's a slight change in rules that should not affect the registration but just the technicalities of scoring.

Badminton Singles (both for men and women)
All events shall be played on a single knock-out system or group league system depending on the number of entries per event. All matches will be played to the best of 3 games of 21 points each. A game is won when a side first scores 21 points. If the score is deuced at 20-all, the side that gains a 2-point lead shall win that game. Should the score become 29-all, the side which scores the 30th point shall win the game. Players will switch sides at the end of the first game, and at the end of the second game should a third game be played. A time-out is given when either side scores 11 points in a game.

 At the same time, we're reducing the minimum required number of girls on the court for Volley Ball Mixed as we've got feedback that the original requirement is too strict.

Volleyball Mixed Event
No. of Players: 6 Players on court, with at least 1 reserve, max 2 reserves.
Maximum No. Of Teams: 8
Format: Round Robin in Group Stages, top 2 teams from each group proceed to the Semi-Finals. If 5 or less teams, Round Robin format applicable, with top 2 teams proceeding to Finals, 3rd and 4th will play a 3rd and 4th playoff match.
Limitations: NO limitations on number of school team players. Minimum of 2 girls on court.
Rules: Standard A Division Volleyball Rules. Best of 3 Sets. In the 3rd Set, first team to reach 15 points win. Deuce is applicable. Referee's decisions are final. Proper footwear is compulsory.

Past PvsP Moment

Remembering the first ever Past vs Present that the Youth Chapter organized since we took over. It's the second official PvsP. The inaugral one took place in 2008.
